KaiLab Robot Not Charging / Not Switching on

What can I do if my KaiLab Robot is not charging and/or is not switching on?

If your KaiLab robot is having trouble charging or is not switching on after charging, please try the following:
  1. Place your KaiLab robot on charge for at least 1 hour
If your robot has been on charge for 1 hour or more and is still not switching on, please move on to the next step.

  2. Check if the battery protection sleeve has been removed
From the factory, the KaiLab robot comes with a thin piece of plastic that fits between the positive contact of the battery and the positive contact of the battery holder.
If this plastic is still in place, please remove it and place your KaiLab robot back on charge.

  3. Clean battery contact surface
Sometimes the contact between the surface of the battery and the battery holder can become dirty which can interfere with the flow of power to your KaiLab robot.
Please try removing the top of your KaiLab robot (Yellow lid) and use your finger to rotate the battery while in the holder.

This will help remove any dirt/debris between the battery and the contacts in the battery holder.

In some cases, the battery may need to be removed to get more access to the battery and battery holder contacts for cleaning. You can remove the battery by cutting the zip tie (this will not affect your warranty) that holds it in place.

Once you have unobstructed access, using a contact cleaning solution on a cotton bud/Q-tip, run the cotton bud/Q-tip in a circular motion along the surface of the battery contacts and terminals in the holder to ensure that all dirt and debris have been removed.
